Materials
Science and Engineering, the
production methods,
properties and
characterisation related
with design and application
of both traditional and
advanced technological
materials have been thought
to students, apart from the
general engineering lectures
consisting of all the
theoretical knowledge. The
undergraduate program of
Materials Science and
Engineering offers
educational courses on the
subjects such as materials
processing, physical and
mechanical properties of
materials, high temperature
behaviour, crystallography,
x-rays, high technological
materials, electronic
materials, phase diagrams,
raw materials,
thermodynamics, design and
selection of materials. In
the department, each
lecturer and assistant has
an individual computer
connected to network in
their room, and students can
also have opportunity to
access to the network in
their own computer
laboratories for world-wide
communication.
The
duration of education in
Department of Materials
Science and Engineering is
four years, apart from one-year
language preparation school.
The language during the
whole education period is
English for the
undergraduate students.
Students must complete a
summer training practice of
at least 60 working-days in
related industrial branches.
After graduation, materials
engineers have the
opportunity to find a job in
many fields such as from
metal to aircraft industry,
from ceramic sector to
electronic division, from
polymer/plastic industry to
automotive production,
including the research and
development divisions in
institutes and universities.
